Kate Middleton - Changing Look

Kate Middleton, born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, has been on quite a journey during the last eight years, thanks to her relationship with Prince William which has propelled her into the public eye. Recently engaged and now set to marry in what is already being hailed the ‘wedding of the decade’ (no pressure then!), one thing’s for sure, Kate’s life will never be the same again.

It’s not surprising she has undertaken quite a transformation from young 21-year-old student to 29-year-old princess-to-be. From her corkscrew curls at university to her new deluxe blow-dries and flawless complexion, we can’t help but think Kate will adapt really quite well to royal, married life.

March, 2002
Kate models in a university fashion show, where she allegedly first caught William’s eye. Her hair is curlier and more natural looking – these are clearly the pre-professional blow-dry days.

Officially now the girlfriend of Prince William, Kate’s hair is longer and sleeker and her complexion looks picture-perfect with filled in eye brows and a dash of blusher.

June, 2005
Attending the society wedding of Hugh Van Cutsem in Burford, Kate wears a black feathery fascinator in her hair - something which soon becomes a trademark look for the Prince’s girlfriend.

August, 2005
Looking happy and tanned, Kate’s passion for hats and headpieces is really starting to show. Here she attends the Gatcombe Park Festival wearing hardly any make-up and with her hair loose and tousled under a leather safari hat.

Braving the cold in a Russian style hat at the Cheltenham 2006 races, Kate opts for barely-there make-up with only a dash of eye liner applied to her lower lashline and a swish of pink blusher to give her a healthy glow.

May, 2006
Attending the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles, Kate teams her long glossy brunette locks with another glamorous headpiece, worn with pink lip gloss and black eye liner.

December, 2006
Attending the Sandhurst Military Academy to watch William’s passing-out parade, Kate looks extremely regal in a large black hat and bright red coat.

March, 2007
Another day, another hat. This time Kate keeps her long hair looking sleek and stylish under a French beret. We love her darker, filled in eye brows and peachy eye shadow which really finishes off her look.

August, 2009
Kate’s hair just keeps getting longer and it looks as though she has had some subtle highlights added to break up the block colour. It’s full marks again for this stylish wedding headpiece.

November, 2009
On one of the rare occasions Kate is spotted at a film premiere in London, she looks relaxed with her hair in a high ponytail along with heavy black eye liner and nude lip gloss.

At a photocall to mark their recent engagement, Prince William and Kate Middleton are a picture of happiness. Kate’s trademark long brunette hair has been blow-dried to perfection with loose curls and flicks added to the ends to create movement. We can’t wait to see what her wedding hair and make-up will look like...
